With Longbridge drawing their game against Woodlands last week they were looking to get back in to winning ways against Stratford Town. Longbridge were down to 10 players for the second time this season due to 3 absent players but this didn't change their goal of getting all 3 points. From the off Longbridge were looking strong both going forward and defending. It wasn't long before they took the lead as Lucee Firth headed in a Tara Harrison corner. They soon doubled their lead as Lucee Firth got her second goal from another Tara Harrison corner. Jodie Cassidy added to their lead 10 minutes before half time. But Stratford showed fight and pulled a goal back before the break. Stratford's winger crossed in a ball which was headed home by their towering forward. The second half meant more of the same from Longbridge who went 4-1 up as Lucee Firth showed great persistence in the box which set up Emma Tidman for an easy tap in. Jodie Cassidy had a great chance for Longbridge as she skipped through the Stratford defence but her left footed shot hit the post. She soon recovered from her earlier miss as she hit a second half hatrick which took her total up to 4. However, Stratford never gave up and managed to double their goal tally with a superb shot which went straight into the top corner. The game finished 7-2 which was a well deserved result for Longbridge as they gave an amazing team performance. Longbridge will be hosting Woodlands for a second time on Saturday but this time in the U18 open cup.
